Project Scope
Covering 2,500 acres along the Colorado River, Gigafactory Texas Tesla’s global headquarters is located near Austin.
“Giga Texas” opened in April 2022 and has over 10 million square feet of floor space (around 100 football fields), making it the second largest building by volume in the world.
The facility is Tesla’s fourth factory in the U.S. and is currently used to manufacture some Tesla Model Y vehicles, with plans to produce the company’s Cybertruck.
Sendero Industries provided a complete offsite utility package. Our work included the following:
- 1.5 miles of 24″ ductile iron waterline
- 2-mile sanitary sewer extension
- 75′ deep Horizontal Directional Drill beneath the Colorado River
Sendero Industries handled each challenge extremely well, from a tight schedule, to working in a demanding environment with unique restrictions, they always brought a viable solution to the table. I would not hesitate to use Sendero on a project in the future.
